Goodfellows and Co. is the culmination of over thirty years in kitchens, a lifelong relationship with the land, and one deeply personal belief: that every kitchen deserves a garden.

Robbie Goodfellow, founder of Goodfellows and Co. Grew up between the inner city and a cottage surrounded by four working farms. His family were antique furniture restorers, so integrity, craft and history were always part of daily life. That upbringing shaped everything he does today.

His culinary path has taken him through Michelin recommended kitchens, places that taught him discipline, precision and a deep respect for ingredients. They reminded him of where food comes from—why it matters to stay connected to the land.

Some years ago, he settled in Hebden Bridge, where he spent time as a National Trust ranger, working hands-on with the countryside he calls home. These days, he splits his time between garden commissions, catering with solid-fuel cooking, and consulting with professional kitchens. In his  woodland allotment, he grows hard-to-source ingredients; and harvest timber for the fires that fuel his culinary journey .

The “and Co.” in our name is no formality—it’s a nod to the community this project has grown from. It includes chefs in shared kitchens and fire pits with over the years—people who believe, like he does, that food should have a story and a sense of place. It also includes friends and family members who have supported this journey: building portico grills, planting seedlings, lifting tents in the rain and sharing late meals after long events.

What we offer through Goodfellows and Co. is simple: thoughtful food, grown and cooked with purpose, and gardens that reconnect chefs to their roots. A well-tended kitchen garden can transform a menu, improve morale, and build a more ethical, sustainable food culture—whether it’s a single raised bed or a working plot.

This is a business shaped by the countryside, by craft, and by the belief that good food starts from the ground up.
